instance linkLinking an instance
A Casino Boss can connect a running instance of Poker Bunker to the studio dashboard. This page says what that does.
What linking does
- The metrics board in the world shows a short code for the instance. The boss types
propatheia.com/i/CODEinto the field under it and presses Link. - From then on, the boss's own client fetches that one fixed address every ten minutes, and nothing else. That is how the studio knows an instance is open and which build it runs.
- The reply can carry a short message from the studio, shown on the board. That is the whole channel: one line, from us to the board.
- It only works while the boss has Allow Untrusted URLs on in VRChat's settings. Turn it off and the pings stop.
What it does not do
- Nothing about the players is sent: no names, no counts, no hands, no money. The URL is the same every time.
- Nobody but the boss contacts us. Other players in the instance send nothing.
- The address that reaches us is kept as a one-way hash with the country for 90 days, so repeat pings can be told apart; the address itself is not stored.
Unlinking: leave the instance, or turn Allow Untrusted URLs off. The link dies with the instance.
